Is Social Media Actually Helping Your Company’s Bottom Line?

As far as we see social media today it can either make or break your company. But then again, bad publicity is better than no publicity at all. Some companies aren’t even using social media to their full advantage and actually using is correctly. The most common way for companies to measure usage are likes, tweets, reviews, and click-through-rates for online ads. Through research, one in three online reviews is fake and only there to make the product seem better than it actually is. Top brands on Twitter and Facebook reach only 2% of their followers and only 0.07% of those followers interact with those posts. However, more companies today are moving most of their advertising from email communication to social media networks. But, email still remains the most effective way to acquire new customers because 90% of U.S. consumers use email daily.

Technology changes fast but consumer behavior changes slowly. Resulting in people hyping over new technology. Many firms persist with ineffective as media because they do not know how to effectively reach their customers and new ones. Companies are trying to stay up-to-date with the newest technology in order to streamline their social media to reach more consumers. Today, companies are stuck between a rock and hard place when it comes to advertising.
